I'm hoping someone can help me solve a problem with the use of TomTom Go loaded on my phone.
I've been using it successfully for about 10 months now and it has proved faultless. (It is also a considerable improvement over the standard nav system on the Kona.)
I have been using a good quality USB data cable. Phone is a Galaxy S20, same one I have used throughout. Usually the car screen changes as soon as the phone is plugged in, having pre-selected route etc before doing so. Today however, the car screen refuses to respond.
The trouble started when I got a message up on the car screen saying "On your phone, switch on location permission for the Tom Tom Go Navigation app". However, having checked this on my phone it was still set as before and had not been altered from where it has always been since TT was installed.
I spent time checking the car screen settings but it still won't work. In the process I noticed that the Android App icon on the car screen was not lit as usual, and no amount of fiddling around would persuade it to light up. Unplugging and then plugging in again made absolutley no difference, even though this normally causes the car screen to display TT without doing anything else. It is as though the icon has somehow gone on strike. None of the phone app settings for this have been altered, and in particular the relevant 'location permission' on the phone is clearly on.
I'm due to go away from a few days shortly and really would like to use TT, because it is a lot better than the Hyundai satnav. Can anyone suggest a remedy please? Incidentally, I have tried another USB cabel, but no joy.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
