Hi all. First post about my petrol N-Line S new in April 2024. In June ‘24 I went to the car and found that the battery was dead, despite using the car the day before, so I was unable to enter the car or switch anything on. I gained access with the physical key and called the Assistance number and the AA attended and jump started the car. The dealer checked it out a few days later and couldn’t find any fault. Fast forward to February ‘25 with no issues since. Exactly the same happened on my return from holiday. This time the AA found that the battery was not only flat but needed replacement. It is now back with the dealer and I have a replacement hire car while they investigate the matter. I Has anyone else had the same experience? I see that there appear to be many similar instances on the USA Kona forum, many related to an ‘insurance dongle’ inserted in the USB port but can’t find any information on the UK site. Thanks.

I have no idea but I’m assuming that it’s something like the black box that some of the youngsters have installed to monitor their driving and forms the basis of their insurance premium.

I’ve heard from the dealer that they’ve fitted a new battery and are just waiting for another day or so to check that there’s no battery drain. Apparently this isn’t an isolated incident and is known to Hyundai. I’ve got my fingers crossed that this resolves the issue.

N-Line S 1.0 DCT. I was told that they are aware of an issue with some batteries.
