Hi all

So I contacted Hyundai. They recommended i updated my software version 240313 (or 13th March 2024) to the latest version of 240719 (or 19th July 2024) by USB stick

I can now mute the notifications by long pressing the steering wheel mute button for 3 seconds

That's good enough for me.

To do this on my 2025 Kona Hybrid, I had to do the following.

Purchase USB C stick (64GB) and format it on a PC to be ExFat. (Right click format/ quick format)

Head to the Hyundai software update web site and download the navigator updater software to your PC. It should put a little icon on your desktop.

Then open the desktop icon and follow the instructions / select your car. It will ask you to select the black USB stick you want to use eventually.

It takes about 15 mins to prep the USB stick.

Take it to the car, turn on your engine, insert into the USB C port that has the CHARGING AND DATA symbol. You may have to press the button next to the USB socket to make it DATA Transfer mode, and it will light up orange instead of white.

Then click the setup button under the screen and go to GENERAL on the touch screen. The first tab should be software related. If it has detected the USB correctly, you should be able to click the UPDATE button.

Wait with the engine running for approx 75 mins (bring a coffee a cake and some entertainment) while it PREPARES the update. Then afterwards, it should change to SOFTWARE UPDATE READY.

At this point it offered to install the update when I turned the engine off, but I don't trust it, so I turned the engine off, then back on again, and the message now changed to UPDATE NOW and so I did that with the engine running.

8 mins later, all done.

Speed limit warnings now cab be silenced with the steering wheel, and also appear in the convience menu.
