Good evening everyone,

I am hopeful someone out there has ended up in a similar place as i am and can offer some help or advice.

I have a 2022 kona with 7k miles on the clock. Was involved in a minor front end bump. Issues with the HV battery now all sorted, all other faults with the car have been fixed with the exception of a front wheel speed sensor which is currently in the post heading to me.
What is worrying is that despite all the work, I can engage Neutral and Park without issues, I can hear the gearbox switching between the 2, but it will not go into drive or reverse. I was not sure if i can 'free wheel' the car to move about but even in neutral with the handbrake off but my friend has an MG ev and if you put it into neutral it rolls straight away, completely freely. I have to physically tow the kona if i need to move it. Feels like its dragging somehow? Definitely CANNOT push the car at all, 4 of us tried, no chance.

If anyone has had a similar issue with their car, I'm hoping its not the gearbox that's failed or even worse, the motor? But if it is, then i can get on with sourcing replacement parts.

Thanks as always.

I hope everything gets sorted, buddy. I’ve just started getting into EVs myself. I recently bought a Peugeot E208 from a dealership for my wife, and after the first drive, I thought, "What a fantastic car!" Then I decided to spend half as much and get a salvage vehicle from Copart for myself. My 2023 Kona Electric arrived yesterday with only 5k miles on it. The front left light is damaged, the bumper needs replacing, both airbags and seat belts need to be swapped out, and the front frame has a small graze that needs a bit of pulling. I also suspect I’ll need to clear the airbag SRS module crash data to get rid of the warning light on the dashboard. But it drives!.. hoping you don't have anything serious...
