Hi,

I’m looking for some advice, is there anything in relation to the hybrid motor that I need to do when driving? I seem to be getting no benefit of the car being hybrid on my MPG it was 17 mpg when it got dropped off my the company and I have managed to get it up to 38.1 but I can’t seem to get the mpg any higher than this.

I drive on motorways daily, so I feel like I should be getting some benefit or at least close to the advertised MPG.

I don’t use anything in the car such as heated seats or steering, I do have heating on or cold air depending on the weather. I do plug my phone in on charge for sat nav and music.

Even with that though I’d still expect it to be higher.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My understanding of the Hybrid is that the benefits of the electric motor are apparent when doing round town stop/start driving and at low speeds cruising etc. Is this a new car or higher mileage? If you're doing most of your miles on motorways at 60 - 70 mph it's going to lower the mpg. Even so your figures seem way out. I mostly use urban 60 mph limit A/B roads + some motorway and my returns vary from 55 mpg to 61 mpg. I would investigate this further if I were you with Hyundai dealer perhaps?

Hi, l've a hybrid and when on the motorway traveling around 65mph I can get 60mpg. I would suggest having a dealership look at the car something doesn't seem right there.

Did your MPG improved from 39mpg? i recently bought a KONA hybrid and only driven for around 200miles...my mpg is showing around 36mpg. I'm also really upset with this. Is this usual with new car?

I have a 74 plate 1.6 hybrid and my mpg is about 40 since last reset, 3800 miles. I'm getting 37 on the latest tank and I'm not happy but it's miles better than my last vehicle, a VW Transporter, which gave around 26 mpg.

but 40mpg is bad for a hybrid isnt it? is this same for other hybrids in the same segment? anyone, any idea?

I spoke to the dealer, they told me to you need to wait until 1000miles to get actual figure. But im not whether this going to improve ? any long terms users of KONA hybrid (new model) in this grp?
