New 24 Kona, automatic and hybrid. When I put it in park, it doesn’t stay still like with a conventional handbrake - it gives a little lurch - either forwards or backwards, depending on the camber of the road. Normal?? Cos it’s very off-putting!!!!

It's just the way it is, park locks the gearbox so all the free play in the gears and driveshaft joints allows the car to move a little... It's not going to roll away but can bee unnerving.

I have the same model and mine does the same. My wife hates it but I think it's quite quirky. I park on a slope and it hasn't rolled away yet.

Thanks for replies - quirky is how I’m described too!

Not just the Kona but probably all automatics when placed in Park.

Put on auto hold which stops this "roll" but bare in mind the car will not creep forward without a jab go faster pedal

Thanks - found the auto hold button - much better! Love this forum - so much better than trawling a manual!

From what I understand from having my 2021 hybrid since January.
If you pull the handbrake button up before you come off the break pedal, after putting it into park.
It seems to stop the lurching.
