Hi folks,
I'm new to the group so please bear with me if I ask a stupid question!!
I picked up a 23 plate Kona Premium yesterday. Does anyone know if I should be able to use Wireless Android Auto on this car, and if so how I set it up?
I'm sure I read somewhere that newer models with built in sat-nav (which mine has) supports wireless. I've Linked it via a USB cable but when I unplug the cable it disappears from the home screen. I've just traded in a 21 plate I20 se connect and was able to use wireless on this so find it hard to believe a newer model doesn't support it.
I did ring the dealership I bought it from and they said its hardwire only although I'm not sure they really knew !
Thanks in advance
Wireless Android Auto
It should be wireless. If you can find "phone projection" in the menus select this before you plug in. It should prompt you to pair with your 'phone. If you can't find it come back and I'll have a look on mine to see which top menu you need.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I've just been put an deleted phone from car and unpaired car from phone. Went on phone projection plugged phone in with USB cable and straight the way it came up with Androud Auto connected (just had to allow access to contacts)
Didn't ask me to pair phone again which I thought it would.
Android Auto available on main menu when plugged in with USB but as soon as I unplug it disappears. Am I missing a step somewhere.
Just seems strange to me that wireless was available on my I20 (which was only SE connect) and not Kona Premium
Thanks in advance

Try this sequence from Google, I think it's the way I did it:
Press Setup on the home screen
Select Device Connections
Select Phone Projection
Select Android Auto Options
Enable Enable Android Auto
Turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your phone
Disconnect your phone from the cable
Select Phone Projection from the touchscreen
If you're having trouble connecting, you can try deleting your phone and all registered devices from the vehicle's system, then registering them again.
All new Hyundai models are compatible with Android Auto, and many also have wireless charging.

Sorry, only just seen this.
I picked my 2024 Kona up on January 1st this year and the wireless Android Auto didn't work. After quite a bit of digging I found an article which said that the software was released in October/November 2023. I thought this would be updated OTA but it wasn't so I downloaded it to a USB. The website I used (https://update.hyundai.com/EU/E1/update ... iew/oXNJ3H) is now showing a 2024 update and I can't see the update I actually used.
Maybe you can check which version your head unit is on and if before mid 2023 you may have to install an update. Beware, it took hours to actually do the update - be patient.
