Hi all,

I have a 23 plate Kona Premium, the dash cluster displays the current speed limit for the road I'm on but there doesn't seem to be any sort of audio/visual warning should I go over the limit. Looking online I think I should be able to turn this on/off by going - Setup - Driver Convenience, then the display should show picture of car on road with settings I can adjust. Online it shows a speed limit sign top right but this isn't on mine. I went back to the dealer and one of the mechanics said it should be there, tried to change it by doing the above but when he couldn't find the symbol just said that it mustn't have it on this one!
My previous I20 and a Bayon I've driven both had audio/visual alerts and I find it hard to believe Hyundai would have removed an obvious safety feature from this model. I've had a couple of 'niggles' already and wondered if its a fault with this car or if really doesn't have the feature.

That sounds frustrating, especially since your previous cars had the feature. I’d definitely suggest trying a reset on the infotainment system to see if the warning appears, or checking for any software updates that might fix it. If that doesn’t work, it might be worth reaching out to Hyundai support for a more detailed explanation—they could confirm if your model should have it or if it’s something that’s missing. I’ve had similar issues with features not showing up at first, and sometimes it’s just a software glitch or something that needs to be enabled on their end.

That’s a bit strange since my older cars with Hyundai all had speed limit alerts, so I’d expect it on your Kona too. If the mechanic couldn’t find it, it might be a software issue or something that needs an update. I’d suggest checking for any system updates, or even doing a reset to see if the option pops up. If it’s still not there, maybe ask the dealer to double-check with Hyundai to see if it’s a feature that’s missing or just needs to be enabled somehow.

Good day all,

I too have a problem with my speedo and am hoping some of you may be able to assist...I have a 2023 Kona Ultimate Hybrid

I'm driving along yesterday on a 60 MPH main road when the speedo suddenly indicates it is now 20MPH limit, ...same when I go through town on 30MPH road, speedo indicates 20MPH.....nothing was shown on roadsigns, slight panic as to why! So I can only presume a software glitch?

Any advice you may have on how to resolve is very welcome.

Thank you.
