Had a chat with the dealership sales guy and agreed I'd reject the car. I sent an email reading:
.. ... confirming our telecon of this morning where I stated:
The car was in rework for 3 (or 4) weeks (depending on which dock date is used).
This seems way too long for the rework to be correcting 'slight damage to the bumper'.
So far 'dealership name' have been trying to get the rework report from Hyundai for nearly 4 weeks with no success at all.
As the rework can't be validated the car is considered not to be viable
We confirm we reject the car and will not accept it.
We request that 'dealership name' look to source a replacement vehicle on a priority basis. This should the same specification: Kona N-Line S with Lux Pack & Two Tone Roof, but we will accept different colours (if that speeds the process). Acceptable colours: Ultimate Red, Atlas White, Cyber Grey, Denim Blue, then Ecotronic Grey (in that order)
We're hoping that Hyundai can step up here and source a replacement on a priority basis, and / or 'dealership name' can look within other dealership locations to see what stock could be transferred to help a car be sourced.
Hoping that this is clear enough as to our thoughts on the matter. Please confirm receipt of the email and advise as soon as possible as to what transpires.
So hopefully it'll kick bums and serve Hyundai to get the rework report to us or the car is rejected and we'll see what transpires.
He called me back later and confirmed the rejection instruction and advised he'd found two cars to the same specification (N-Line S with Lux Pack & Two Tone Roof) one in Denim Blue (again) or in Atlas White. I opted for the white and the paperwork is in the process of being raised.
So good news in the end!

I guess that the dealer had to have the chance to try and get the details on the rework report. Annoying though that I was in limbo all those weeks. Mind you I'd not have expected care to go rolling around.... Rough seas though...

I took delivery of mine nearly 4 weeks ago and the dealership have been trying since to connect the Bluelink without success. I have spoken to the Manager on 3 occasions and finally said I would be rejecting the car. Upon which he said that I firstly had to contact Hyundai UK to make them aware of the situation and he then went on to say that the Bluelink function fitted to the Kona's was classed as a Driver Aid and as such would not qualify for rejection.
I think personally he was making it up as he went along and more or less said so.
Anyhow I got an email from the service dept yesterday to say they have been told to change the DCU which means removing the dashboard to do so.
I have made my dissatisfaction very clear, made a formal complaint/rejection to Hyundai UK and a complaint to the head office of the dealership involved.
Meanwhile they are collecting the car tomorrow to go ahead with the DCU change and I have to wait for a response from Hyundai and the dealership head office.
Not a happy bunny but have never been in this situation before so not sure what to do next.
Not a good situation there. I can't fault the dealership in my case. They've been great trying to progress through things on the old car. Still waiting on details as to when the replacement should be arriving.
Fingers crossed you get your issues sorted out quickly! If I have connection issues when I go to collect mine I'll not accept it. I can see fun times ahead, hopefully not but......
